Our chat function<\/a> is once again experiencing a few new features<\/a> and improvements. Technically, some things have been optimized, so that even users with a lot of chats can retrieve and follow the latest messages faster. Also the posting of pictures and media<\/a> has been improved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most important new feature, however, is one that many customers have been asking for: the ability to respond to chat messages with an emoji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WhatsApp first introduced this feature a few months ago (see more here<\/a>). We are now following suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new level of communication<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Instead of sending an emoji in a new message (as it was done so far) to react to a previous message, it simply reacts directly to the corresponding message. The so-called “longpress” opens a menu that shows all options including the emojis. Just like on WhatsApp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With another click, the appropriate emoji is added. Of course, this can be changed at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As with the well-known chat apps, the emojis are displayed small at the bottom of the message. Even with many reactions, the chat itself remains clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First uses in apps show: Users have no problem at all understanding this functionality. They have simply already learned it from other apps. An explanation is not necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More interaction, more engagement<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Emojis are not only an additional layer of interaction<\/a>, they are also “fun” and motivate participants in different ways. Initial data suggests that both quality and quantity in a chat can be increased again through Reactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new feature will be rolled out gradually to all customers with the next updates. You don’t have to do anything, the feature will be made available automatically. Of course, the emojis can also be added to the chat in the dashboard and can also be seen right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
